The Global Institute for Diaspora Affairs (GIDA) has announced a new initiative to deepen partnerships with diaspora organizations across the world as part of its expanding diaspora policy agenda. This effort aims to unify diaspora voices, strengthen institutional coordination, and advance policy reforms that enhance representation, mobility, economic opportunity, and civic participation for global citizens.
Through this partnership call, GIDA seeks to collaborate with associations, community networks, professional groups, and regional diaspora councils to co‑create solutions that address long‑standing gaps in governance, engagement, and development. The initiative will support joint research, policy dialogues, capacity‑building programs, and coordinated advocacy efforts that elevate diaspora perspectives in national and international decision‑making.
“Diaspora organizations are the backbone of global civic engagement,” said Ms. Sally Wamalwa, Director for programs of GIDA. “By working together, we can build stronger institutions, influence policy systems, and ensure that diaspora communities are fully recognized as partners in democratic and economic development.”
This call for partnership is part of GIDA's broader mission to strengthen civic participation, economic inclusion, policy reform, and next‑generation leadership across borders.
